Corporate Bids

Public & Private Corporations

Most corporations do not post their bids and RFPs publicly. These organizations choose to closely control the procurement process. Potential bidders are pre-screened and only a selected few are asked to participate in the RFP process. For these organizations the seller must keep in touch with the department heads who are likely to buy their products or services. Once they have issued an RFP the process is much like any other RFP.

For those few corporations who do make their bids public they typically post on Merx Electronic Tendering System or Biddingo e-Portal Public/Private Bids.

Important points to watch out for when responding to corporate bids:

  • Clearly understand the RFP requirements
  • Consider all alternatives when responding: alliances, sub-contractors, etc.
  • Meet Mandatory Requirements
  • Errors and Omissions Insurance (may be required)
  • Liability Insurance
  • WSIB Insurance
